Last week was a hard one. I started back to work on Thursday and to say it was something that I had been dreading is an understatement. Becoming a mom has been one of the hardest, most fulfilling, time consuming and wonderful thing that I have experienced in my life. I think it is natural to be nervous about adding back additional responsibility to my life. Thankfully, I am starting back at 80 percent for the first month to help ease my transition into the working world again. So far Avery has been very good. She sleeps most of the day while I wear her in my Boba wrap, which allows me to not only be productive in the barn but also outside!
I actually just bought a second wrap, one for the barn and one for the house so I am not constantly washing the wrap, because like anything else, it gets dirty in the barn!!!
We did have an amazing time at the PA farm show. Thanks to my wonderful family, my husband, my mom, dad, sister and her boyfriend Ian all came to help us show. Not only did we have two entries several classes, but we had to have the entire herd out for the whole Nigerian show because of group classes, but we also had the stroller up by the arena. My dad was on Avery duty, but thankfully Avery slept through the majority of the show!!!
We are so proud of how our herd did! All of our girls placed well with our top placings being Reserve Grand Champion Jr. Also, Ziva won the Jr kid class which was a large class in itself! Stella also got 2nd in her class behind the grand champion Nigerian of the show. We also got 2nd place in Dam and daughter and get of site.
The picture above is one of my favorite, as we bought the goat peaches on the left just a few weeks before Avery was born to be her goat and you can see her smiling happy face!!!
I hope you all are having a wonderful winter and staying as warm as possible. Take care and happy goating!!!
